Thanks Garath- yeah it is a lot of fun.
I'd been wanting to learn it for a while now- steep learning curve I guess, but at least it is non-transposing so I can continue to read in treble clef without having to do any mental arithmetic. I'm primarily guitarist.
My oboe/reed is around a quarter tone out at the moment, which is distinctly unpleasant but I don't want to make any alterations when I really don't know what I am doing (which I don't).
Luckily I live in London so have access to a lot of good teachers.
I start lessons with Emily Plainthorpe in around a weeks time- I am sure she'll sort it out.
