Hello OboeBB,

I noticed that after a day or so of playing a new reed the cane changes - so that the tip which first appeared to be very thin - appears thicker. I guess it is the water/saliva and playing which transforms the cane.

I fine it easier to adjust the tip after the changes have occurred.
