I think the Americans were/are mostly determined to stay small. There's a huge market for Laubin English horns, but you can't even get on their list. The used Laubin English horns that show up at Charles Double Reed have been going for $11,000 and more. I don't know about Covey, but Hiniker seems determined to stay small. People buy Lorées because you can buy one today. I'm on the list for a Hiniker but who knows when I'll actually get it....
