When I played it, it doubled everything else...didn't really add much. And I didn't play a lot of it. Kind of a waste of my presence, as that was the ONLY thing I played that concert! (although that's not my worst wind ensemble experience...the worst was when I was brought in to play all of 2 lines on English horn of a Oboe II/English horn part where it wasn't even a solo! AAANNNDD There was plenty of time for the oboist to switch)
