Your "Linton" English horn is most likely a "stencil" made by Malerne.
Malerne was purchased by Marigaux S-M-L c. 1976, and the Marigaux of today is nearly the same as the original Malerne model, with some minor changes to the keywork patterns/ergonomics. Usually excellent instruments.
I have found that (for me) the Hiniker bocals work best in the Malerne/Marigaux English horns. I feel that the Hiniker is easily the "Rolls Royce" of English horn bocals. The Hiniker 2B 13 seems to be the "type O" of English horn bocals, though Tom Hiniker makes many diffent variations of length, bore size, tip length. Of the Fox bocals, I prefer the XP- the XL seems "dull" to me, though I would suggest other makes over the Fox. The Loree "H" series is an excellent bocal- seems to be a huge improvement over the "non H" Loree bocals.
The Chudnow, Dallas and Symer bocals- excellent. And Ross is well worth a look also.
