Hi jhoyla,
That's real tough luck.
I don't have too many warstories on tree accidents, just a small one:
About a year ago, a collegue of mine fell out of a tree and had a concussion. He was unable to go to work for a couple of months.
Actually, I do know another story, but it is a bit too gruesome and not in the same league as your accident. Appearently trees can get very unpleasant sometimes. Then again, we do keep cutting them up and turn them into planks or instruments.
Knee injuries I'm more familiar with. A close friend of mine used to hurt her knees a lot on martial arts training. She had torn ligaments in both knees, had surgery and wore braces many a time. Last year she had another surgery and got a Wii Fit Balanceboard to aid recovery, as it has a lot of balance excercises. I remember her saying really helped in her case and at least it offered fun and variation. Just be careful not to overdo it. I'll mail her today to see if she has any specific advice concerning the Balanceboard.
I hope you recover well,
Joepie
