 Re: Sharp reeds

None, but I am interested to hear people's suggestions as well.
I am always playing sharp - especially on Gs. Having spent several minutes swapping bits of equipment back and forth and both of us playing various combinations my teacher declared the problem was me, the reeds AND the oboe. Was so relieved!

Oboedude, do you normally play in tune and this is a new phenomenon? Have you got any old reeds around which were in tune that you could stick in - I'm just wondering if there is some bizarre airleek or gumming up in your instrument for which you are unconsciously compensating to get the notes, but the result is sharpness. Can you put your reeds in a different oboe of similar spec to see if the same pitch problems are still there?
