Does anyone know where to buy the molded foam rubber to glue into a suitable box (like old cigarette cases) to hold and separate reeds? I got some wonderful stuff at the Ithaca IDRS meeting 2 years ago from a German company. I had hoped a dealer over here would stock it. It takes only a few minutes to make a reed cases by cutting the 1/2 inch wide strip to necessary length and gluing in with contact cement. A year or so ago someone tried getting some from the German dealer but the shipping cost was very high. I have made very attractive reed cases from old cigarette cases as presents for my graduating students but find making the dividers to hold the reeds difficult until I found this perfectly spaced and formed foam rubber strips. It was sold by the yard and rather expensive--but you only need and inch or two for a reed case. Thanks for any information. Lois Barton

It seems I can't edit my post, but I thought I'd mention that you have to click on "oboe" then "cases", and you'll find what you were looking for!
Happy oboing!

I did try. Three times. And it sent me to an error page, telling me that "you are not allowed to edit this post". (I remember having edtited posts before -on this same computer- and never having any problems).
Anyhoo, the important thing is that info was given to a person who needed it.

But the technical operation of the BBoard is important to me, and saying you can't edit your own posts means something isn't working right. Since I and others can edit our own posts, it means there's something not right on your end, and I'd like to figure out what it is.
