I think that maybe you are mistaken about that tempo. If the half note=150, that would make the quarter=300! That is an inconceivable tempo for articulated 8ths; even if you can double tongue like the devil it is nearly impossible for clean playing and the end result will sound like garbage. Perhaps the quarter=150? That is on the extreme side, but I think it is more likely.
In Europe the tempo is very fast, quarter=140-144. Here in North America the tempo is usually quarter-126-130. Conductors would rather hear playing that is controlled and even then an excerpt that races forward and is uneven and has the potential of flying off the rails.
Start slow and increase your speed. Add a couple of slurs if you need to. Show the panel that you understand the style of the piece and are not ruled by the tempo.
