usedoboes.com let me try THREE different oboes, and I found one I'm VERY happy with, sent the other two back with no feelings whatsoever of being a burden to Marti. I've also bought from Chudnow and Miller Marketing, and been happy. I'd stick with the oboe-gurus and avoid the 'e-bay' type sites.

The truth is, you just don't know 'til you try it, and you want to buy from a reputable dealer/consignment agent.
