Long scrape, very dark and warm, yup.
1. Tabbytoes. Both the Pro and the Student.
2. CJWright.
There can be substantial waiting periods for these, as with all handmade reeds from one-man operations.
These tend to arrive faster.
3. Reedmaker.
If it gets down to the wire and you still don't have reeds to use for your audition, a lot of people swear by Edmund Nielsen Blue reeds. Not exactly handmade, but perfectly adequate, and their chief advantage is that they will get the reeds to you with astonishing speed.
