The other day I lost the thin little layer of cork that goes under the lower-joint to upper-joint linkage for the c->d trill key on the left side of the oboe. It was on the lower joint half of the linkage. I caught it as it fell off and I carefully put it in my case so I could glue it back on, but I managed to forget it was there the next time I opened my case and it seems to be gone for good.
So--I suppose I can just cut a thin layer of cork from a wine cork or something, and glue it on with something? Is this a contact-cement sort of project, or is there some other glue that would be more appropriate?
