I overhauled an old Loree of this era and as far as build quality goes it was exquisitely made.

They were far ahead of British makers in terms of their production techniques and it took several decades before the similar production techniques were realised on British instruments.

Compared to a Louis ('30s) and early Howarth (late '40s) which were all completely hand built (all key pieces were cut and shaped by hand), the Loree set the standard which was clear to see when all three are compared side by side.

Although all makers have evolved and diversified since, you can see how they have evolved from the Loree type of the early 20th century.

The opinions I express are my own.
