Can anybody help me - I have a Cabart Oboe and I am hoping to find a list of serial numbers so that I can establish the age of the instrument.

Cabart oboes are made by the Loree company, but I am not sure if Cabart oboes have the same serial number system as loree oboes. I would suggest getting in touch with Loree and see if they can answer you question. Loree has a serial number chart which is easy to find the age of the instrument, but I am not really sure about Cabart oboes.

There was just an exchange on the IDRS board about Cabart serial numbers, which apparently had an original series and then a new one when Loree took them over around 1960. You should get a quick answer by asking there.
Best regards.

Hello,
when you have an old Cabart oboe the instrument is older as 40 years because the factory stopped in the early sixties.
When you have a Loree cabart the first two numbers give the year when the oboe was produced.

-- "I tried Loreee (I have H109) but they simply denied all knowledge" --
Could you tell us what "tried Loree" means?
Go to www.google.com
Type in "Loree serial numbers"
H1 is 1981/82
