1. David, what the heck is a "Desert Island"?
2. If it was a Deserted Island I would take "Strangers on the Shore--Kenny G's version" knowing tht darn soon a boat would come to (a. break it), or b(b. take me away, away).

The Corigliano Concerto (and enough reeds that I could build a raft (ocean liner) from the used ones after I mastered it or a coffin if I didn't -- probably the latter.) ;^)
My actual desert island piece for the clarinet though is the Finzi Concerto.

I would take Schumann's Soriéstücke(orginal verison of the Fantasiestücke). I find them to be greater than Brahms or Mozart.

The Bach Partita in a minor, BWV 1013.
It may not be clarinet music, but I can never grow tired of listening or playing this music.
