Is this a follow-on from Sarah Hardacker-Ellul's (Meridian Winds) Facebook post?
That was my Ab in the posting, it took me over a decade to find that instrument, and it was a matter of pure luck at that.
Happy Hunting.

It was pure luck.
I was invited to play in an avante-garde band last year, and a bandmate got the Ab clarinet as part of an estate.
But also, and this really shocked me, is that during Covid, he bought a John Challis harpsichord from a local university for $100, then sold it for $1000. He made money, and the guy who got it bought an amazing instrument for next to nothing. Still, I can't quantify how sad / angry / frustrated / shocked this makes me.

What kind of repertoire is there for Ab piccolo clarinet? In what types of ensembles does it appear?

All clarinet repertoire is repertoire for all clarinets.

You may really, really, really want one.
But Caveat Emptor.
The finger wholes are MUCH, MUCH closer than any other instrument, and you may not be able to play it. I do OK on Eb, but after a few months of re-addressing the Ab every few weeks, I can only sometimes get an F major scale out. I have to rotate both hands and use a much more curved finger position than is normal for me.
It is not anywhere as easy for me as it was for repair tech Sarah Hardaker-Ellul in that Meridian Winds video on Facebook. She studied with John Mohler and I did not.
And also, don't expect these things to play in tune.
Still, no, I don't want to sell it.
