I am trying to research the history of my clarinet. It is a Rampone Milano Brevettato with the Serial Number 25438 on the main body. I bought it in 1959 for £20 from a Polish guy who had played in in the Polish Army band during WW2. It is a single body with a bottom Eb key (I think to allow Macho Italian players to play A clarinet parts on a Bb clarinet). It also has a C# trill key between the first and second right hand fingers and a very useful G#/D# key for the left hand.
It still pays extremely well and has a much superior tone and key action than my other clarinets.
At some time before I acquired it the tuning barrel was shortened but it does play in tune.
Rampone were not able to tell me much that I couldn't already have guessed but I would like to know when it was made and why it is a single body. Also why has nobody else added the extra keys which seem very useful to me.

Buffet, Leblanc and Selmer used to add all the extras on their clarinets so you could have the standard 17 key 6 ring models right through to 20 key 7 ring full Boehms (to low Eb), but they only offer the LH Ab/Eb lever nowadays.
