Also take the spring tensions with a pinch of salt as that's always a personal thing, especially ring key spring tensions and all other open sprung keys as you're only closing them as opposed to having to force them closed. Similarly with closed sprung keys as you're only opening them as opposed to slamming them open.

Chris P,
Thank you for publishing the venting information above. It made me realize just how technically detailed setting up a Yamaha clarinet can be.
I just got through reading an article written by a well known YouTube teacher. It was entitled: "How to customize your own clarinet".
My first interpretation was "Oh, good, now everyone will learn how to customize their own clarinet by themselves".
Wrong.
The gist of the article was: 1) get to know thoroughly the idiosyncrasies of your clarinet and what you want to have changed or improved. Then: 2) take it to your repair tech to have it set up the way you want. (This was mentioned at least 3 times.)
So much for the misleading article title...
Sometimes, I think the main problem this BB has is...
"not enough players are reading the many informative articles it contains."
...and your posts are always informative.
Just my opinion.

These charts (and their other ones for other woodwinds) provide a good starting point if you want consistency if you're working on a lot of clarinets and aren't gospel as some players and especially some clarinets will benefit from some ventings being more open than stated or some keys requiring lower ventings than stated for the sake of evenness and response.
Should you find even the widest ventings are still too stuffy in the low register, then that's an easy fix by reducing reed strength.

Hi Chris thanks for that. I have a data logging force gauge. If I get the chance I will give them a test run😀

Thanks for this! I knew these existed but hadn’t seen a close look before.
Interesting how some spring tensions are heavier on the pro model and lighter on the student model. I would have guessed them to be lighter across the board.
Do you happen to have access to the flute page of this booklet too? Off topic for here but of interest to me as a tech. Feel free to email me off board if you want.
