Does anyone know who made this? There is scratching over the logo, so I can't make out the maker's name, but it does say "Clarendon Hills, IL." and has an ichthys in the middle of the logo. It looks like the name starts with a "R" and ends with "AYRE", but can't make out the rest, and not sure off the top of my head who that might be.

Hi GLW,
You have a Rick Sayre mouthpiece (see the attached). He was associated with the last days of Stowell Wells Schneider mouthpieces in Evanston, as I recall.
He then set up a repair shop in the western suburbs of Chicago. Again, as I recall, he began to turn out mouthpieces like you have now.
Walter Grabner might know him.

Thanks so much! I would never in a million years have figured that out! I've not heard of him before. So are these considered any good? It plays well for me, but clarinet is just a double for me, so I'm not the most discerning player. It looks like maybe this was designed in the style of a Kaspar?
