 Eb Clarinet Pad Replacement
Author: Nathan243

I'm currently trying to order new pads for an old Bundy Eb clarinet. What are good pads I can order for less than $50 as a full set of 17? Please link to the website, Google seems to be deteriorating every year in terms of the quality of its search results.

I'm asking also because I know nothing about what specs I should look for. Should Eb clarinet pads be thinner since the instrument is smaller, or no? If so, please let me know exact numbers or a small range.

Thanks.

Precisionpad.com.
I think if you call Ferree's, they can help you with pad thickness.
It would be best if you removed old pads and measured inside caps diameters.
Also, measuring old pads may help.

I have measurements, I actually already ordered a set from MusicMedic, but I screwed up putting a few in, and I've decided I want to just get better quality ones instead.

That site has multiple kinds of pads, which one would you recommend getting?

I have valentino master pads on my eb. the tan color ones. They are fantastic. There are 2 key cups too small for them though that use cork pads.

MusicMedic pads are not that bad. Cheap and good quality, it is unlikely you can have both.
Like Hunter100 mentioned, Valentino masters are very good and easier to work with than cork. Valentino greenbacks are softer though, which makes them even easier to work with.
If you haven’t repadded Bb clarinets before, Eb is more sensitive and harder…

Soft pads are easier to install poorly and firm pads are harder to install correctly.
