Restore the clarinet internal polish (?)

Some tech told me that it is not recommnended because this can alter the bore of the clarinet... some says that is may brighten the sound...?
I assume that it may happen when using the wrong tools?

Some tech here do the inside polish?

I did a search for "Should a clarinet bore be polished?" and came up with the following "old" thread from another clarinet forum. I believe the response given to the OP is still valid.

Thanks Dan,
so it seems that polish the inside is possible without altering the bore...
I hope someone, or Steve, can share the process and it is no more a secret after 16 years

Hi,
I had a look at the link and above. From my experience many wood polishes contain a solvent that actually leeches the stain/colour out of grenadilla. I have also used grenadilla wax to fill in bore grain imperfections and areas where the factory has not polished the bore after machining as it can be worked and finished. I would not recommend this approach for the entire bore for fairly obvious reasons of tone holes and sheer mess that would result and great difficulty finishing the wax off.
