Like I'll bet a bunch of you, I got an email today from Silverstein on their latest contribution to the synthetic reed space, the Maestra.

 https://www.silversteinworks.com/product/maesta-bb-clarinet-reed/

I'd love to know what people think, hoping that some here had a chance to play it at Clarinetfest, going on as I write this.

To my way of thinking the Vandoren VK is best, followed by Legere followed by nobody right now--having not tried this new Silverstein synthetic, but having tried their Vivace, and D'Addario's Venn and considered them simply not adequate substitutes for cane.

 Of course YMMV.

 TIA

I am interested in whether anyone has tried these in the four months since Secondtry asked for opinions. Thanks

I just ordered my third Venn reed and a new box of cane reeds to compare. My very first Venn reed was a half strength too hard. I went down a half size from my cane reeds, and it is basically comparable now.

I did not enjoy the Legere reeds. I tried several, and it was a waste of money in the end.

I need to read up on the VK's. I haven't bought Vandoren reeds in decades.
