Hello All,
I've posted to this forum some time ago regarding information and value on a bass clarinet that belonged to my grandfather. This forum was very helpful and I ended up selling it to a member here who could appreciate its value and uniqueness.
So, here I am again with one more clarinet.
As I mentioned in my first post here, this (and the bass clarinet) belonged to and was used professionally by my grandfather who played under Toscanini in the NBC Orchestra as well as the original Broadway play "Peter and the Wolf".
I know very little about these instruments but I truly would like it to go to someone who will appreciate and enjoy it as it will, in all likelihood, remain in its case under a bed if I keep it.
I've added a few photos taken quickly with my phone but am happy to provide more upon request. The serial number appears to read "K4864".
As stated above, I'm not qualified to determine condition or value but it seems to be in solid and good shape. I would assume it would need a refurbishment of some kind including new cork.
I would truly appreciate info and valuations as well as welcome any reasonable offers. If interested, I would pack it safely and ship it insured.
Thanks in advance!
