The link includes audio of some fine playing (Brahms), but almost no other information about this interesting artist. There's more about him here (and elsewhere as well):

A fine clarinetist and delightful man. Rest in peace after a long, worthwhile life.

That really does sound like a wonderful life. I'm sorry to hear that he is gone.

Colin's son, John Bradbury, continues the family tradition: he's Principal in the BBC Philharmonic. It's interesting to compare their playing, as it tells you a lot about how British clarinet culture has changed over the years. From the rather spiky but clear 1010 sound of Colin to John's much thicker Buffet+B40 sound (though the mouthpiece is a guess: I don't know for sure what he uses, but this is certainly how it sounds and it's very widely used here these days):

John: Colin had a publishing company too. I wonder what has become of it or will become of it. Boulez didn't like the sound of Colin's and Jack Brymer's 1010s when he was chief conductor of the BBC orchestra. But that was Boulez.

Thanks very much for posting the YouTube links John - a very interesting contrast between the generations. It would be interesting to do a similar comparison for other "national schools". I suspect many would trend towards the "thicker" sound.
