Does anyone know the name and composer of the gorgeous chamber work that was used, in excerpts, for the opening-credits and end-credits music of the 1981 educational TV series Focus on Society, produced at KTVT-TV in Dallas by the Dallas County Community College District?
The instrumentation, as best I can make it out, is flute, clarinet (the most important instrument within the excerpts), harp, piano, percussion (playing glockenspiel), two violins, viola, and cello. A wretched, deteriorated home-videocassette-derived recording of one entire half-hour episode can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RRJKUzpYD8, with the music being heard at 0:05-0:44 (clearly the beginning of a movement) and at 27:35-28:29 (clearly the end of a movement). It's pretty much a certainty that this music wasn't written expressly for the series, since it's not fitted to the credits: it simply fades out at the end of the opening credits and fades in at the beginning of the end credits, with a large structural gap obviously existing in between.
A few years ago I tracked down and phoned several of the individuals listed in the credits to ask whether they remembered what the piece was, and none of them did, a result that suggested to me that, however clever they might be at sociology or filmmaking or broadcasting, they must be crashingly insensitive to musical beauty not to have had their curiosity aroused by such an ear-gratifying piece.
The body of the linked-to episode is underscored from time to time with what's obviously mid-to-late-twentieth-century "library music", but I doubt that this chamber piece is library music: to me it just sounds too distinguished for that.
One final note: The linked-to YouTube video is, like so many other things on that platform, almost certainly in violation of copyright, but I'm holding my nose and posting the link anyway because I'm so desperate to find out what this piece is.
I look forward to your responses.

Yes, the track is "Paris Traffic". That was my first guess based on the sound of the tune, so good job on the composer Valentino for that. Library music can have so much charm. The fact that is was not credited on screen was a good indicator that this is was it was, since by the sound of it it would still very much be under copywright otherwise. Enjoy!

Oops! I misread the title thinking this was a gorgeous unknown/unbranded make of clarinet with a lot of chambering/undercutting work done to it and came here looking for photos to identify it.
Ok, I'll take a day off.
