Anyone ever tried to this? https://clarinetdivas.com/2016/04/18/vandoren-optimum-switcheroo/
I really wish there would be a proper version for clarinet. I currently have the silver Optimum and despite being weighty, It's free blowing, I think It would play well in gold plated. I'm not so interested in the pink gold one, I don't think I would like the softened sound It gives...

I’ve tried several optimums before deciding to buy the silver one. The gold is slightly better, but also more expensive. The difference is so small, I felt I couldn’t justify spending the extra money. If you have the silver one, I wouldn’t bother trying the gold.

Yes, because It also won't fit properly, being for alto sax. I would If there was a proper fit for clarinet.

Missed completely that it was about a sax mouthpiece. The gold clarinet mouthpiece I tried was the rose gold one. Makes my reply a bit mute.

Laurent Sultan from Vandoren told me It fits Bb clarinet mouthpieces. So that makes It interesting. But I'm worried how stable will be on the mouthpiece being larger I guess.. Again, It might pay well, who knows. If there's a doubler out there who happens owning It, I'd appreciate If anyone tell us how It fits and plays on clarinet. In my opinion, this is better plating than the pink gold which they made proper clarinet version. They shouldn't. This should be done.

I'm so sorry! I made a mistake too, I meant the Optimum gold ligature on Bb clarinet. I should have written It! Sorry!!
