Hi everyone
Just wondering if anyone has any words of advice/wisdom on how to approach audition day when you have to play E flat as well as B flat/A excerpts. In particular warm up, what to do in the hall, between excerpts, keeping reeds moist during the audition, switching instruments…basically any lessons learnt that anyone would be willing to pass on. I do as much chopping and changing between instruments as I can during practice, especially picking up instruments, setting up a reed without playing and playing various excerpts. I assume worse case that I get asked to chop and change instruments in an audtion and try and work that into my practice.
Many thanks indeed for everyone’s thoughts,

Practice starting excerpts cold with no warmup so you can get good at nailing entrances when you're feeling uncomfortable (to replicate the audition feel). Also keep your mouthpiece cover on your Eb clarinet to stop the reed drying out and/or warping before you play it in the audition.
