I found this by "accident." We're all clarinetists and therefore love all the different kinds of clarinets in the family. I'm a compose, a modern 1 and I write for non standard orchestra. The reason I do this is because in contemporary music (especially commercial music) all the instruments r used.

In 8th grade, I was th only alto clarinet player and I ha 2 play loudly to get the part heard. I wanted 2 play this in college, but my love then was th bass clarinet with the low C extension (Shotstakovich).

Would love 2 hear from u all

thx 4 supporting me Ed and telling me my tone is not poor!

Immediately after watching this video, I began 2 liken the alto clarinet 2 the; tenor sax, baritone and cello. I'm not sure if I could do this with the French horn and viola.

 any leads?

forget playing tenor sax in concert band . its a dead end. also i own one of those selmer mod 22 altos that cost 12 grand now. its a nice horn but no way worth 12 grand. if i am spending this kind of $ for an alto-its going to be the buffet prestiege!
