It's a matter of risk.
It's almost certainly a regular petroleum key oil... but you probably can't know for sure... unless you can find out.
The worst is using vegetable oil for keys, you might be able to tell if that's what it is, but better not to risk it if you're not sure. It can cause keys to get stuck, etc.
For the bore, there is an approach that prefers petroleum oils, and some prefer vegetable oils (usually specific types).
Other than that, most key oils sold by regular stores are very thin, more similar to valve oil. It's better than nothing, but I prefer a "medium" oil for hinge tubes and "thick" oil or even grease for hinge rods.
