A friend want me to buy his Hamelin Clarinet. I can’t find anything about that clarinet? It’s not metal. Does anyone know anything about this name?

Below is the Wikipedia entry for Gaston Hamelin. Presumably he's the clarinet's namesake, but I don't know about that. Everything I'm finding at the moment indicates Hamelin's clarinet was metal, AND made by Selmer. So I don't know what your friend is trying to sell you, but if you post pictures I'm sure someone on the Board here will be able to figure out who made it.

Could it be a Hameln?

"Hameln" is the German spelling for the town that had the rat problem. I don't know if there's a connection.
