Great reading, thanks to all who responded. I was particularly interested in reading about the CT's large tone holes and its unsuitability to play in modern clarinet sections. I'll just have to see if the intonation and my hand size prove to be problematic. But I read some great feedback about my $847 horn being a "blast" to play and favored over other clarinets.

I've moved to a senior housing living project in Oregon USA and recently recorded a solo with a resident's 1972 R13. It had a gorgeous sound, even though it hadn't been played much recently. Sadly, the lady seems to have suffered a mild stroke recently or has early onset dementia. I tried to encourage her to play but I think I scared her away. Anyway, I'll record a solo on my "Barnett Plisko" YouTube channel with the CT when it arrives and see how it compares with the R13.
