 rillion clarinet reeds

Many years ago I received a free Rillion Bb clarinet reed stuck to a magazine. I was amazed to find it was surprising good but being rusted on to another brand I more or less never took it further Browsing through past posts on this BB recently, I noticed someone else commented (2006) they were better than other reputable makes inc Vandoren.. I'm surprised to find they are still around at a slightly higher price than other questionable 'bamboo' from China a decade or so later. I still have many V21, Pilgersdorfer, Leuthner Steuer waiting in my cabinet but, out of curiosity, I've ordered a 10 box Rillion for $20 through Alibaba Express. Anyone know what they are like these days? Practice only? Kindling?

thanks Nelson

A friend of mine imported a truckload of these into NZ about 10/15 years ago. The samples she wS sent were very good reeds. The stock she was sent was widely variable and disappointing. They CAN make good reeds, whether that's what you'll get is another matter altogether.
