There aren't really "issues" with a longer peg. Maybe advantages and disadvantages to consider when standing with it instead of a harness (but different straps and harnesses also have them). In this case at least it sounds like they only need a slightly longer peg because they are tall, not a very long peg for standing. Maybe an inch or two longer would be more than enough and there will be no issues with at all compared with the original (assuming it's made well, etc.). The cumbersome solution would be something like a thick book under the current peg or anything similar, or alternatively a shorter chair.
