 Service for Vintage Selmer CT?
Author: JBuck

I recently came into possession of a wonderful R-series Selmer Centered Tone. It's in pretty good condition - but I want to make sure it stays that way for a long time to come! I pulled it out of a very musty old case, so I imagine it sat in an attic for a long time. Who are the best folks for overhauls? I searched the forums and came across http://www.jbwinds.com and https://www.thevintageclarinetdoctor.com. I'm in Southern California in case there's a local place that anyone is familiar with, but am open to any US-based shop.

JBuck,

Check out the Meridian Winds (MW) FB page as well as their website. Sarah is a super tech who also has a master's degree in clarinet performance from Michigan State. She has developed a growing clientele among university clarinet studios all over the Upper Midwest.

Hank

PS I am just another satisfied customer of MW.

They're not local, but both Wes Rice (clarinet-repairs.com) and Mike Hammer (hammerwoodwinds.com) both do excellent work.

Also, the "vintage clarinet doctor" you mentioned (Jeremy Soule) does excellent work. He refurbishes a lot of old clarinets, and I recently bought one from him- it works great.
