Hi, Our community orchestra is a little strapped for cash but we would like to obtain/download the complete Tchaikovsky 'Swan lake', Both sets of hand-written parts easily available on IMSLP are not for aging eyes and with a fair number of errors and many of the players are having trouble. The free conducting score (1895) on IMSLP is beautifully printed but the corresponding Jurgenson orchestral parts would set us back $1499.
Any suggestions please

Maybe you could get the players to download the free version of Sibelius (Sibelius First) and then get them to zoom in on their handwritten parts on-screen and copy the notes into their free sibelius? It takes time but it's very doable.
I used to have extremely problematic eyesight and I used to use massive zoom on-screen, until I found the magic eye-fixers.

Try Lars Payne, whom I believe is (was?) the librarian at Covent Garden. We bought a PDF set of his Nutcracker and it was very well done. I remember paying around $800 for the set, but maybe he would charge less for a community group.

Leonardo Teixeira has done a complete engraving of the Swan Lake Suite Version A, six movements, in Musescore. You can download it from the Musescore.com score sharing site here:

It's fairly easy to generate the parts, and make minor adjustments for printing, but if you have never used the Musescore.org software need help, let me know. The link to get the free, open source, score editor is: https://www.musescore.org

Do you really want the complete ballet? It's about 2hrs 25mins and is divided into 4 acts. It means a lot of rehearsal time, especially for a community orchestra, not to mention, if it's meant for a performance, needing an audience that will sit that long for ballet music without being able to watch the dancers.
I'm not questioning your doing it, if that's what the orchestra wants to do, but following rmk54's last post, I'm wondering if you aren't asking about the complete suite, which has 8 movements (dances).

Lars Payne is the librarian of English National Ballet (I know him quite well as I work with ENB on regular occasions). Certainly the person to speak too but not sure he’d appreciate his full details being shared on a public forum.

Hi, Yes, we are after the complete ballet from which the conductor is considering building his own dramatic selection rather than the usual suite. We're Looking to 2022 so it's early in the project and should he choose to go ahead next year I will take up the leads you have given me...for which I thank you. Amazing music
