Perhaps your mouthpiece's window is narrower than that of other alto clarinet mouthpieces.
For basset horn I use an alto clarinet mouthpiece with Legere reeds. On both my 5RV and B40 alto clarinet mouthpieces, two types of Legere alto sax reeds (original and Signature) are actually a fraction of a mm *narrower* than the mouthpiece window.
Some alto clarinet mouthpiece windows (like those on Vandoren mpcs) are quite a bit wider than others. Legere alto sax reeds will come closer to fitting those wider windows.
