I tested them when they first came out. Is BG still making them? My humble opinion: not very good. -nowhere near as good as Clark Fobes, Mike Lomax, or Vandoren for that matter.

Likewise I was very underwhelmed when I tried them in 2014. They may have improved since then (weren't they Zinner blanks?), that WAS some time ago, but I was playing at a festival in Aussie and tried out a large selection of them at a shop in Sydney.

Donald: yes, they used Zinner blanks. Thuddy, lifeless mouthpieces...but not because the blanks were Zinners, I hasten to add.

What blanks do they now use for red ones (https://www.bgfranckbichon.com/en/becs/1466-bec-ouvert-115-mm.html)?

Although I have not yet play-tested the BG B3 clarinet mouthpiece, I have played a BG B1 since 2009. I later acquired two more and an additional three just this year. Generally, I find the BG B1 to have a large, responsive, and colorful sound, though each mouthpiece has its own individual idiosyncrasies. I found the BG B2 mouthpiece to be resistant and stifling.
