Charles Neidich and Ayako Oshima Neidich have opened an American dealership for retail sales of Schwenk & Seggelke handmade clarinets, as well as S & S barrels, bells, and refaced mouthpieces. They also sell a wide range of Ishimori clarinet ligatures and the Woodstone Ishimori clarinet reeds.

Oh, that’s great news! I recently did a video https://youtu.be/N9wFmfKi-b0 about barrel shape with Schwenk and Seggelke’s barrels. Im glad they are removing the biggest hurdle of getting your hands on them, the international shipping!

How do Woodstone reeds compare in strength to V12?

I've been playing Behn Brio reeds and haven't tried the Ishimori reeds yet, but other than the high price, I've heard only good things about the Ishimori. The cut is evidently similar to that of traditional "blue-box" Vandorens but the Ishimori feel one-half to one strength harder.

Here are some reviews gathered by a British distributor:

In 2011 I tried about 20 Schwenk und Selggelke barrels looking for a 65mm for my B flat clar... It was very difficult to choose one as they were very uniform in quality and characteristics.
Out of the 20 I could only immediately put aside 4 or 5, the rest were all in the VERY GOOD category and at least half of those WERE VERY VERY good.
In contrast, trying out Buffet/Moenig barrels (in 2006) I was able to immediately put aside at least half of them.
