I'm an American living in France and I need some work done on my 1958 Selmer Centered Tone. I have a repairman that I use here, but he doesn't play clarinet. He's good with some things (pads, corks) but I would like to send it to someone who plays who can make the "finer" adjustments, if that makes sense. Also someone who does nice crack repairs. Since I've owned the CT it's cracked in the top joint, the bell and the barrel.
Thanks in advance.

Where do you live in France? There's Mercadier in Paris, who is excellent but will cost you an arm and a leg. You could try Selmer itself, if they're still going. You can get in touch with me if you like.

I'm in the Lot-et-Garonne, 47210, so likely the closest shop is in Bordeaux. I'd just as soon send it somewhere rather than deal with traveling. I'd rather not pay an arm and a leg, either!

There are many good repair people in France but not all deal regularily with vintage instruments. JS Music in Lyon did a wonderful job on my very vintage Selmer. It did cost an arm and a leg but the work was beautiful. They have a sizeable waiting list for repairs.

I have worked with BĂ©atrice at Le Coin de Bois in Paris. She is wonderful to deal with and due to her skills, has quite a clientele.
