Does anyone have any experience with his mouthpieces (the TJ3 more specifically)? Thinking about upgrading mpc portion of my setup and I wanted some input. There's only one other post on this forum about his mpcs but it wasn't very helpful.

I tried a couple of his mouthpieces at Long Beach Woodwinds. They are very responsive, maybe a tad on the bright side. Way more resonant than for example a Vandoren. I like them and might have bought it if I wasn’t happy with my Behn.

That's interesting; how would you say it compares with something like a vandoren BD5? I'm looking for something that helps produce a warm and "liquid gold" kind of sound.

I’d say it is nothing like the BD5. The BD5 has a very covered sound, and has a lot of working resistance. Too much for me, actually. The Johnsons are a bit more “traditional” in feel, however the sound has a nice amount of warmth. At least in the music store I tested them.
