  quick question..
I've got my eye on a LeBlanc LL that I can buy locally from a family that had bought this LL I believe new about 15 years ago for their Daughter who only played it briefly
It seems to have a very narrow Bore, with Silver Keys and is quite pretty.
I'm guessing this Instrument is circa 2000 or later.
I understand Vito or LeBlanc may have re reamed Clarinets coming over from France. at some point
That said could this LL be one of the offending Clarinets?
Ben

LLs have a medium bore (14.80 mm) if memory serves. Leblanc's small bore sticks are 14.60 and the large bore Pete Fountain model is (was) 15.00. Nice instruments. Sadly no longer made.

Take a caliper and measure the inside diameter of the lower end of the upper joint. If it reads 14.8 mm it follows the European LLs I have measured (and all the measurements I've seen from the US).

I'd really like to see evidence of this tale that Leblanc France clarinets were re-reamed in the US. There is no economy in disassembling the keywork, removing the thumb and register tube, widening the bore, and finally putting everything back.
