I bought an "airline" style aluminum case at a garage sale for $10. It was painted in camoflage colors, so I stripped it. There are very few instances where I needed Bb/C/Eb combination, but that is what I am currently thinking, and commonly bring only 2 of them.
How should I proceed with case build-out?

It looks like you're missing a 3rd bell? If so, I think you can orient the bells "flip flopped", to save space for the 3rd one. I think it's better if you have the barrels faced up to save some more space. So, maybe you could switch around the Bb barrel in the left corner, and replace it with the mouthpiece. then, have all 3 barrels in a row.

Right you are. I think that at least one of the bells will stand upright, giving more room.
Let's assume everything fits. Any suggestions on constructing the interior partitions?

Ralph, I just found this (believe it or not) by searching "how to build a 3 clarinet holding case".

The author suggests separate styrofoam blocks, however, another method would be to use one large styrofoam block and carefully cutting out the various sections to hold the clarinet parts. I would then suggest putting some kind of flannel over the cut outs for cushioning protection.
I'm just mentally designing here...perhaps the individual blocks might be better with a solid sheet of styrofoam on the bottom and top, again with flannel in between.
Actually, each clarinet part could be individually wrapped in flannel.
I'm sure you'll figure it out.
