It can't hurt, and as long as you are proud of everything you put on it it might help!

It depends on what you hope to achieve from having a webpage, and whether it is realistic that the webpage will be able to deliver what you hope to achieve.

I use mine as a tool to offer myself score entry tools, random playlists, etc. I also use it as a communication tool in sharing details about rehearsals/performances so that others in my group(s) know when we're meeting next, etc. Additionally, I use it as a quick way to share set lists, PDFs, etc. I also use it as a central storage point for my various mobile devices...so my devices can sync with the scores on the website. (There are other tools out there to achieve most of these tasks without having a website...however, I prefer to use my website for these things).

On the other hand, the primary public side of my websites don't really show much and they serve more as placeholders for folks who happen to stumble across the specific webpage on their own.

It just depends on what you're hoping to achieve with a webpage.

One clear side benefit of having your own domain name/mail host is that you can keep a personalized e-mail address for as long as you own the domain name.

Super easy, start a free Prezi account, put whatever stuff you want on it and tell people where to go.

I have several and it has always been good. :-) I'm pretty certain that only I look at them, but they make me feel very this-century.
