The late David Etheridge, the author, was my former teacher and he asked me to help him in the proofreading of the manuscript before publication.

I was honored to have worked with Dave on the proofreading of all the chapters, musical examples, excerpts and fingering charts. Some of my musical suggestions even made it into the final printing

The book is excellent. It's a nice culmination and legacy to his career as a teacher and performer, offering very helpful advice on every aspect of clarinet playing.

No matter what your level of playing, it can be of great value.

There are good books in that series on a variety of subjects. The clarinet book is excellent.

I am most impressed by Prof Etheridge's 3 volume tutor set called " skill builders, a practical approach to the clarinet " books for beginners, intermediate and advanced.
To me this set is up there with the very best and I'm always surprised it isn't frequently recommended.

After writing the book 'Clarinet for Dummies' he was asked to do this series of books.

Again, I was honored to help Dave with the proofreading of the manuscripts for Book 3 (Advanced). It is indeed a very worthwhile set of books to own - lots of good info, pertinent musical examples and solid teaching ideas.
