 G Turkish Clarinet (metal)

Well, I began playing Clarinet a few years ago (former sax player). I started learning various Klezmer/Balkan/Makam styles, and I've decided I need a G Metal Turkish Clarinet to realize my musical vision. I play outside a lot. My Buffet Wooden clarinet is fun to play, however, I need to go lower, louder, and need a simpler system that will allow for me to adjust intonation on certain pitches (you know half/double-flat/sharp stuff)......Please Universe somehow just get me a G Turkish Clarinet.....I have no money, and i am so helpless. I actually quit performing for 5 years because i felt so disenchanted by the current treatment of professional musicians in clubs in america. (basically bar owners think that making money is more important than supporting music). So, I moved out into the sticks, and just played with my housemates once in a while.

Well, that did not work-out, so I just started playing professionally again a few months ago, and i feel an unstoppable force coming through me that can only be properly channeled through G Turkish Metal Clarinet. Once She has me, I don't care how many hours i have to practice....all that matters is making Her sing.

Here is me playing: I am just a clown, and maybe i don't deserve it, but I feel I need a G Turkish Metal Clarinet, or my heart will crumble.

If you can help, in any way, please do it!

May the Clarinet be with you.

I recently purchased a Chinese Boehm system G clarinet that I could not be happier with. Being made of hard rubber, it is just as resistant to the weather as metal. Best of all it was less than $300. A great option if you don't have a ton to spend.

Previously I purchased a Chinese Albert system clarinet with quite poor intonation. I ended up modifying the keywork to Boehm system and tuning the instrument so it played well in tune. If you want a DIY project this is a very inexpensive way to get a G clarinet (less than $150). I eventually gave this instrument away to a Youtuber in exchange for some parts.

can you give me your link? I keep seeing Chinese Albert g Clarinets, but sometimes the pic is not albert, or not even a g clarinet....don't know who to trust. Also they don't specify wood or plastic.

I just got mine from eBay. I wouldn't buy one from Aliexpress or any other website. Pretty much any of them that say "turkish" or "sol" or "g clarinet" will be the same instrument from the same factory. All of the less expensive ones will be Albert system. If you do get one of those the first thing you should do is drill out the register tube to 3/64" as it will greatly improve playability.

Jdbassplayer,

I've never seen a Chinese Boehm in G, nor can I find one now. Do you have a link to one?

Can't post eBay links here, but if you search "g french clarinet" you should find it. Mine plays great, but you may also want to get a Ridenour thumb saddle as the stretch between the toneholes is quite a bit.

Got it. Thanks. French was the keyword. Boehm doesn't find it.

Got it. Thanks. "French" was the keyword I needed. "Boehm" doesn't find it and it only comes up on the .com site not the .co.uk one.
