 Vandoren Clamshell Reed Case
Author: Morrigan

So I’ve always liked the Vandoren case that holds 8 reeds, but within a matter of months the hinge comes loose, and they’re not cheap!

Has anyone found a good solution to this?

No need for the sarcastic “buy something else” responses please!

First I want to thank you for reminding of that reed case! That was a piece of gear that came and went for me and wound up in a drawer. I was recently looking for alternates to the four reed Rico plastic reed holder that I use of late. THANKS!!!!

I can't say that I had a hinge problem but it is one of those brass "push in place" rods. Mine sits "center" about 2mm from the edge (looking at the very back) on either side. If you can't just push it into place with thin awl so that is stays, you could use a tooth pick to place a good glue into the outer aspects of both sides of case and then maneuver the pin into "center" until the gluei sets. Finish off with beads of glue in the outer 2mm space.

Best I can suggest.
