Danzas fantasticas - Joaquin Turina: looking for transposed Bass Cl part
Author: glin
Date:   2019-01-10 06:15

The bass clarinet for this orchestral music is written in A for the first two movements. The last movement is in Bb. All movements are written out in bass clef. I know I am inviting a lecture to learn to read A parts and read bass clef and transpose it out-but if someone has done it already, it would be a time saver over the weekend. Thanks!

Lucks Music sells a transposed part.

I'm a bit surprised that your group's librarian didn't acquire the transposed part ahead of time. As librarian for a community orchestra, I always acquire transposed parts if they're available.

Yes, we should all be able to sight-transpose. But "should" and "can" are not the same thing. Yes, we should use the instrument that the composer specified. But how easy is it to rent/borrow a bass clarinet in A?
