Hi all,
I just purchased a box of Daddario reserve classic reeds through Amazon. When I opened the box I noticed that the printing on the reeds are different to what I’ve been seeing on Reserve Classics I’ve purchased previously. I’ve attached a couple pictures of the box and some reeds, as well as a side by side of one of the new reeds against a Reserve Classic i bought previously.
Is the word “D’Addario” no longer being stamped on Reserve reeds, or could I possibly have a counterfeit box? I’m concerned also because these boxes, which claimed to be fulfilled and shipped by Amazon, were available for a much, much lower price than normal, which I thought was interesting but I’d seem similar situations where I’d gotten legit reeds, and the price was low enough that I might as well give it a go.
EDIT: The reeds themselves seem quite playable, out of three reeds all have played decently out of the box and one is very good so far. I should note however that this was a box of 4s, and it is my very first time purchasing reeds of that strength as I normally play 3.5s, if that matters.
