Have you seen this with new Buffet clarinets? This particular warning came with an E12F that a student's parents just bought.
I realize rubber can cause silver to tarnish, but this warning seems well over the top.

This opens the door for them to sell the new buffet-stamped "Key-saver mouthpiece bag". ;^)>>>

That must be why my silver-plated ligature turns to a very ugly tarnish after about a month. Luckily a quick bath in a salt/baking soda/vinegar/water solution cleans it up in no time

They have been putting this note inside every silver-plated clarinet for at least ten years...

All new mouthpieces emit some sulfur smell. It is the sulfur that tarnishes the silver so quickly. Some manufacturers make mouthpieces from a very soft compound of rubber, These emit a lot of sulfur very quickly, which causes very quick tarnish on all silver parts. There is really no remedy other than keeping the mouthpiece in a separate case or container outside the clarinet case.

The reason you won't see silver plated keys on a Ridenour clarinet ...
I kinda like the tarnished look ... I wish you could get clarinets with un-plated keys, like Buffets in the distant past.
I always tell the repair technician to never buff the keys on my clarinet ... messy, takes more plating off and doesn't play any better ...

But, doesn't it make the sound darker?
