I lost interest after about two minutes.
No doubt that it's a difficult piece, but I would guess that the general audience appeal would be lukewarm, at best.

Thanks very much for sharing that seabreeze. What a marvellous sound she produces. I found the whole piece riveting and have subscribed to that youtube channel.
I note the piece was written in 1954. I wonder when Veronique recorded it?

A piece like Scelsi's does require a certain kind of audience. Probably a turnoff in a Sunday park concert but maybe a hit with an audience that likes Messiaen, Boulez, and Elliot Carter. Another modern composer who is probably more accessible is Robert Delanoff. Delanoff was a clarinetist in the Munich Orchestra for many years and has written a considerable amount of music in several genres and instrumental combinations, including some for solo clarinet, clarinet and piano, and clarinet, cello, and piano that seem more popular in Europe than in the U.S. I'm putting up a post soon linking to clarinet music by Delanoff.
